Pretty darn dismal last check-in. Dismal, like Dismal Swamp -- there is such a place, I kid you not!
Serious dismal-nes here folks. Here's the weird thing: it was on fire for about three months. Still not kidding. If only I were on fire for three months...sorry. Still -- I'm very excited about this next week, I'm revitalized and raring to go. NOW, go now. Okay.
I need to narrow my focus on my WIP, figure out some key elements, so I'll do that by:
Brainstorm for 2 hours
Outline for 2 hours
Anything else is gravy...mmmmmh, gravy.
BTW, I started a YA yeeeeeeaaaaarrrrrssss ago about Dismal Swamp, honestly, how could you not?
How are the goals? Are you gearing up for round 5?

Hope the brainstorming and outlining goes well! awww shucks, round 5 hmmm a new set of goals? :S lol
ReplyDeleteBrainstorming and outline are some of those things that can be as fun as having a tooth pulled, but they have to be done. Good luck over the next week :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are back in the saddle, Amy. Sometimes the well has to replenish itself, and that can get frustrating. Godd idea to brainstorm and let thing simmer on a back burner.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the Dismal Swamp! I live in a part of Florida called the Swamp; how could you not write about it??
But.. I like the swamps. LOL. You broke out the magnifying glass! I hope the focus works out :) I'm totally getting ready for Round 5. The new year just won't know what hit it!
ReplyDeleteYay Amy's back! Hope you have a fruitful week. LOL
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain but here's to get all FIRED up again!!! Woot woot. I can't wait to hear about how your brainstorming and outlining goes. Exciting times!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon! Yup, round five is looming. Will you do it again? I didn't do anything today except play with my grandchild. Although I did have a tiny epiphany. Those are always good.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I actually like brainstorming, outlining...not so much. Thanks for stopping by.
Elizabeth, when I first heard of Dismal Swamp I knew I had to write about it. I probably still will some day. Definitely had to replenish the well.
ReplyDeleteRyan, ha! The new year absolutely won't know what hit it! I'm jazzed for round five too. I just gotta get through this round!
ReplyDelete{{{Yolanda}}} thank you! I'll be visiting soon -- had a busy day (not writing, pure playing!) now I'm doing my ROW business.
ReplyDeleteHey ya Natalie, woot woot indeed! I can't wait to see how the brainstorming goes either!
ReplyDeleteHey, Amy! I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to finish up my WIP. It's taking forever!
Oh Komal...tell me about it. I HATE it when it takes forever.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I start getting overwhelmed, I have to develop tunnel vision to get back on track. Then once I feel some success in a priority, my whole outlook changes.
ReplyDeleteOh and I LOVE your picture! Visited Caddo Lake in East Texas a few years ago. so beautiful!
Thanks Marji, I do have a tendency to become overwhelmed. And you're right, tunnel vision should help. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI know, the picture is awesome. I would frame it.
Amy, you obviously need to jump on the Slacker Train with me. I'll let you be in charge of the horn. Woot-woot!
ReplyDeleteYay, I get the horn! And you are so not a slacker Jenny Hanson, you do so much! And you have a baby.
ReplyDeleteWoot for revitalized and raring to go! And for brainstorming and outlining...even if they're less fun. Hee.
ReplyDeleteYay for brainstorming and outlining!! Good luck with everything this week :D
ReplyDeleteJesi and Lauren, I used one of those GIANT lined post-its that you can stick to your wall, and started brain-mapping. Circles and lines all over the place! It felt wonderful -- I figured out two key elements. Couldn't be happier, well, I could, but I'm very happy.
ReplyDeleteHow big are those giant lined post-its? Not sure I've seen those before, but you have me intrigued. And I'm very happy the circles and lines make you happy as well. :)
